So the problem with E is that the attacks don't NEED to be truthful. If truthfulness was a necessary condition for attacks in the political sphere, then E would likely be the correct answer. However, as it's not, it's possible for an attack to create a link even if it doesn't exist in actuality. Thus, E is not necessary for the authors statement to be valid, but B is.
