I chose C

not sure where it says it should be legally controlled. and i could not see where it says it is unfair. all i read is that one of the three theories allows it to be regulated.

Hi Medas,

I think the last few lines of the passage might contain the reasoning you're looking for. We are told that only one of the three theories affords protection against grey marketing. The author then reveals their position- that it is therefore desirable and inevitable that that theory is consistently applied over the other two.

While they do not outright state "We should legally control grey marketing," the author does strongly advocate for the only legal theory that is capable of controlling grey marketing. We can safely assume that the author supports that theory because they want grey marketing to be legally controlled.

As for fairness- this is a bit murkier. I would point to paragraph 3, which highlights the downsides of grey marketing for trademark holders. I would also look at line 55-61, which gives us hints that the author thinks that grey marketing is bad for trademark holders.

While I was a bit surprised to find the word unfair in the answer, it is the only one that conveys the author's opinion at the end of the passage, which C does not do.
