Why not A
I was very tempted by A but ultimately I chose E. Why was A incorrect? The ideal in the beginning is used to prove the conclusion.
If A was the correct answer, what would this stimulus have sounded like?

A is describing an ad hominem argument, one in which we attack the person making the argument but not the argument itself. It would look like "bob thinks we should stop selling unhealthy food, however, since bob is a jerk, we shouldn't listen to him"
