Set Up

I could've stared at this game for week and not figured out how to set it up. The only reason I know how is because of the video explanation but Jelena doesn't discuss what she saw in the stimulus or rules that led her to set up the game the way she did. How can I determine this from the stimulus and rules?

Hi,

This is a really hard game to set up. For some reason I can't see the Video, so I'll just talk through how I'd think about it. We have four periods in which people will be visiting three different places. That makes me thing we have a sequential ordering part to this game. Since we have three places, and the people visit the places, I would make the places the base, and have the people move. So, I'd have three lines for F G and I, and have four slots on each to represent the months. Basically, I just draw the simplest possible setup. From there, I would try to understand each rule, and notice that we have a lot of things touching on Ghana. Since we know that the V in Ghana must be either two or three, I would consider two scenarios, one based on V being second in G the other on it being third.
