I initially chose A, but then switched to E because A did not discuss academic offerings, just quality. Can someone explain please?

Hi, a necessary assumption question is essentially a must be true, it is asking what the author must assume. In this case, the author must agree with a, since their argument is predicated on the idea that parents will prefer better schools, not just more convenient ones. E does not have to be true, we have no idea about the idea of generalist as opposed to specialist schools.
