How can J and S be a pair

isnt the rule if no J then S. The contrapositive would be if no s then J correct? So how would it be possible for J and S to be a pair in the forest?

The rule is if No J then S and if No S then J.

This doesn't ban them both from being in, rather, it bans them from both being out. The rule is triggered by one of them being out. In this case neither sufficient condition is met.
