Why not D ?

The explanation does not help me understand why this question cannot be correct.

Hi, I would make two cases against D. First, I think that while both passages touch in the difficulty of reconstructing the past in literature, that isn't the central topic of either. Rather, it is a reason why we have to rely to some extent on falsehoods, which is the main issue in both.

More so, I don't know if either actually agree that it is truly impossible to accurately represent the past. In fact I think passage B, and likely passage A would agree that it is possible to do so, but it is far better to rely on falsehood in certain cases.
