Which one of the following is a possible matching of employees with the offices they select?

Question 1

For question #1, it's not clear that they're meant to be rearranged, how would we know this one an exam? Also, because of the rule that states each variable chooses the office that he or she ranks highest, I thought that J would have to choose Y if it were first. How would I know that the rule about choosing the highest office doesn't apply to the person who goes first, if technically the are all unselected when beginning the game?

Hi, the workers in this question aren't listed in order of when they selected their offices. Generally, don't assume things that aren't explicitly said. Here we know that they need to choose the office they ranked first if they went first, so we would need to recognize that not all of them are in the order they selected.
