Hey, I got the question correct but wanted to ask because it goes from numbers to percentages it also weakens the argument.

Hi, that wouldn't be an issue here. The author give us numbers, in this case 222 out of 1257, and then restates that as 18 percent. This is kosher, since 222/1257 is equal to 18 percent. This is only an issue if we go from a percent to a number without actually knowing the total number. It would however be fine if we do know the total number. For example it's fine if the passage says "10 percent of the country has tried ketchup, and since the country has more than 1 million people, we know that at least 100 k have tried ketchup."
