Why not C

I think lines 44-45 is basically praising the female doctors in ancient times for how they have effectively treated some diseases. If it is true, what is C wrong?

The question is asking why the author included this citation, and the author isn't just trying to prove that women were effective at treatment, but rather that they were accepted as doctors who practiced general medicine as referenced a few sentences earlier. By saying that she saved the whole city, the author proves the point that at least some women saw more than just female patients.
