I think the last sentence of the second paragraph and the first sentence of the last paragraph give us support. They tell us that archivists are quickly running out of time to save traditional media, and given that this is juxtaposed with the desire to avoid computers, it seems like the author is telling us that computerization is really the only way to archive traditional media. Additionally, the first sentence of the third paragraph tells us that it seems likely computers will solve the durability problem.
