Why A and not C?

I was between A and C but chose C. Is C incorrect because it predicts that the conditions would "resemble" the tropics rather than just stating that it would "increase"? I'm just not sure specifically what should have prompted me to choose A over C. Thank you!

A refers to the number of species, which is the outcome variable of time theory. C is about the overall conditions, presumably meaning climatic conditions. There is nothing in time theory that suggests the climate will change with time, but rather that the number of species will change with time.
