The conclusion is that there was an error, either he was supposed to get another flower, a card, or the flowers were for someone else.
We are trying to weaken this conclusion. By showing that one of these three had never happened before, we might slightly doubt one of these three. However, it doesn't undermine the actual conclusion, that the delivery contained an error, rather than it being correct.
