Why is E incorrect

I got the correct answer, but I am confused with E's explanation of why its wrong. I got stuck between D & E.

E is just irrelevant. How would it help or hurt the argument if E were or were not true? Whether they completely lacked or merely had a weaker ability to process the enzyme doesn't seem relevant, since all the author is doing is trying that being less or unable to process the enzyme causes cancer?
