Hi! Can we cross off C because it says that pollen analyses is a valuable tool in identifying ancient plant species but the passage in the last paragraph clearly states that a major limitation to pollen analyses is that it can only identify families or genus and not species?

Why wasn't this a point to cross of C?

I think that's another reason why it isn't C, but for a main point question, our biggest concern is whether the answer choice is what the passage was trying to prove, and the passages point is much broader than C. It's not trying to show we can identify ancient species, but it's about what those species tell
