We are told that whenever you subcontract the manufacturing of a product, you lose some control over the quality of that product.

So: if you subcontract, you lost control

P1: S ==> not C
C ==> not S

The company president states that for this reason, even though they do subcontract some manufacturing, the companies they subcontract with maintain complete control over the quality of the products they supply.

P2: C

Thus, according to the contrapositive of P1, if the companies that are subcontracted by the company president maintain control, they must not subcontract their work.

This is exactly what answer choice (A) states: "When the president's company subcontracts manufacturing of a product, it does not allow the subcontractor to further subcontract manufacturing of that product."

Hope that was helpful! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
