Arizona Bar Exam Overview
The state of Arizona uses the Uniform Bar Exam (UBE) for aspiring lawyers. The Arizona Bar Exam takes two days, and the first day consists of the Multistate Performance Test (MPT) and Multistate Essay Exam (MEE), which includes two MPT essay questions and six MEE questions. The second day of the exam is 200 multiple choice question Multistate Bar Exam (MBE).
The Arizona Bar Exam also uses the same grading system as what is standard for the UBE, and the first day of the exam is weighted the same as the second day. The MBE counts for 50 percent, the MEE is 30 percent, and the MPT is 20 percent of the overall grade. Arizona requires a grade of 273 or higher on the 400 point scale. It takes approximately nine weeks to receive test results for the Arizona Bar Exam. Applicants must also score an 85 or higher on the MPRE before they take the Arizona Bar Exam.
